Stop Trying & Start Being: The Key to Achieving Your Goals

Once upon a time, a person was given a task they had no interest in learning. When their supervisor asked about progress, the person would reply with the excuse, "I'm trying." One day, the supervisor used the analogy of tying shoes to show the flaw in the excuse. The person realized that "trying" was just an excuse for not fully committing. This pivotal moment made them reflect on the concept of trying and its true meaning.

They questioned whether they should even use the word "try." After all, they had tied their shoes countless times without a second thought. The person started contemplating the nature of trying, realizing that sometimes we don't succeed until we keep going. They wondered when trying something new transitions into doing, and when doing becomes being.

This reflection became a turning point in their life. They understood that the concept of "trying" often masked a lack of wholehearted commitment. It was a wake-up call, urging them to let go of trying and embrace a mindset of being.

With this newfound realization, they approached the assigned task with renewed determination. Despite the challenges and unfamiliarity, they focused on developing the necessary skills, immersing themselves in the process. They sought guidance from colleagues, asked questions, and invested time and effort to overcome their fear of the unknown.

Through persistence and dedication, they successfully completed the project. This experience taught them a profound lesson about the power of becoming. They realized that by letting go of fear and embracing the unknown with unwavering confidence, things would eventually work out.

The key takeaway from their journey was that sometimes, we need to stop trying and simply become what we want. To achieve success in our careers, relationships, or personal goals, we must embody the qualities of the person we aspire to be. Belief in oneself and confidence in one's abilities are crucial, just like the person who had been tying their shoes effortlessly for over a century.

If you often find yourself "trying" without fully committing, take a step back and evaluate your mindset. Are you holding back due to fear or uncertainty? Are you making excuses instead of wholeheartedly engaging in the process?

Remember that progress and growth often demand stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing new challenges. Instead of fearing the unknown, approach it with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Don't hesitate to seek help or guidance from those with more experience. And most importantly, never give up.

Persistence and dedication are the keys to achieving success in any endeavor. Even when faced with difficulties or setbacks, keep pushing forward. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish with time and effort.
